Carta de un/a Director/a de escuela a los padres antes de exámenes – Letter by a School Principal to parents before kids´ exams.
En estas semanas, además de las compras Navideñas y el acelere propio previo a las Fiestas de fin de año, es época de exámenes.
Me gustó mucho este texto copiado que circula en las redes….
Se trata de la carta que un/a Director/a de escuela dirigió a los padres, previa fecha de exámenes de sus hijos.
De ser real, desconozco al/la autor/a, y no tengo información sobre si es un texto actual o fue escrito mucho tiempo atrás.
Pero eso no tiene relevancia…
Lo que sí es relevante es el mensaje y su significado, totalmente atemporal.
Hoy más que nunca es muy importante tenerlo en cuenta y reflexionar sobre él, en especial porque muchos padres confunden altas notas con aprendizaje real, y suelen presionar demasiado a sus hijos respecto de los resultados de los exámenes (entre otras muchas presiones), lo cual a veces los carga de vergüenza y dosis inmensas de frustración.
Si tenés hijos en edad escolar, de cualquier nivel, te invito a leer esto varias veces, y si sos estudiante y a punto de dar examen, te envío el saludo Francés de la suerte ; ¡Merd!

This is the letter that a school director addressed to parents, prior to their children’s exam date.
Should it be real, I do not know the author´s name, and I have no information about whether the text is recent or it was written a long time ago.
But that’s not relevant…
What is relevant indeed is the message and its meaning, absolutely timeless.
More than ever before, it is crucial to take it into account now and reflect on it, especially because many parents confuse high grades with real learning, and tend to exert too much pressure on their children regarding their exam results (among other types of pressure), which sometimes fills them with shame and immense doses of frustration.
If you have school-age children – of any level – I invite you to read this several times.
And if you are a student about to take an exam, I send you the lucky French greeting: Merd!
